Truth or dare for teens 16+ can already be a bit more honest than for younger groups — but nowhere near as far as adult rounds. This list deliberately sticks to what's legally and age-appropriately fine at 16 in Germany and Austria: beer and wine are allowed, spirits and shots are not. Accordingly, there are no dares here involving stripping or forced physical closeness.

💡 By the way: that's exactly why we built the Miniski Roulette — the fair random picker instead of spin the bottle. More on that further down ↓
What is truth or dare for teens aged 16 and up? The version of the game for older teens: more honest questions about friendship, first experiences and everyday life than for twelve-year-olds, but without spirits, strip elements or dares that lead to forced physical closeness.

Dares for teens 16+
Dares that get a laugh without crossing any lines.
- Dance for 30 seconds on a chair (stable and safe!) to a song of your choice.
- Act out an over-the-top marriage proposal to a cushion or an object in the room.
- Call someone from your contacts and sing them the first line of a song.
- Do a 15-second handstand.
- Tell an embarrassing joke as seriously as you can.
- Post (with the group's consent) an embarrassing old photo of yourself to the group chat.
What stays off-limits for this age group
Some "variants" that circulate online for truth or dare — such as strip truth or dare, or dares where you have to kiss or touch another person — have no place in a round for 16-year-olds. They create pressure around things where genuine consent is hard to judge, and they don't belong in this age group. Spirits and shots are also off the table: in Germany and Austria, only beer and wine are legal at 16, not hard liquor.

Tips for a great round
- Agree on limits beforehand: Decide together that nobody gets pushed into physical closeness or stripping.
- Beer/wine instead of shots: If there's any alcohol involved at all, keep it to what's legal at 16 — and alcohol-free alternatives are always an option.
- No one has to: Anyone who doesn't want to answer a question picks the dare instead.
- Supervision at bigger parties: Having an adult around in the background never hurts.
FAQ
What questions work for truth or dare for teens 16+?
Questions that can already be more honest than for twelve-year-olds — about friendship, first experiences, small mistakes — but without explicit topics or dares involving closeness or stripping.
Is alcohol allowed in truth or dare for 16 year olds?
In Germany and Austria, beer and wine are allowed at 16, spirits and shots only from 18. Any drinking-game elements should stick to that limit.
Are strip variants of truth or dare okay for this age group?
No. Those variants create pressure where genuine consent is hard to judge, and they don't belong in a round for 16-year-olds.
How many people do you need?
It gets interesting from 4 people, and 6–10 is ideal for a varied round.
What should you do if a question makes someone uncomfortable?
Switch to the dare instead — no one is forced to answer a specific question. Agreeing on limits together beforehand prevents most uncomfortable situations in the first place.
What if the group is younger or already adult?
For younger groups, alcohol and spirits should be dropped entirely. From 18, both the topics and the drinks can get more mature.
